I used to see the plovers in the sandy soils nearby where I live. As the developers and builders pushed in and removed this habitat I have not seen a plover or heard their sing song calls in many many years. This saddens me greatly. The once lush environment I knew growing up here in this province has been constantly built over and destroyed in the name of profit and population growth. My children have not heard this bird's cry and their children will never know this wonderful bird existed if we continue down this unending path of human greed. It has to stop and it has to stop now!! Animals and the habitat they live in must be protected and left undisturbed. This is the gift I would like to leave my grandchildren, not more houses for profit.
