Remembering that: The beach is recognized as one of the top ten beaches in Canada.
And that The park also contains provincially, regionally and locally significant natural features such as:
- the largest and least disturbed ancient parabolic dunes in Ontario
- wetlands, that are important for the water/flood management
- a portion of the Nottawasaga River
- an active freshwater beach and dune system
- ancient beach ridges
- distinct vegetation communities
- a number of species at risk and their habitats
All of which make Wasaga a unique place for Canadian geological and natural history.
What is the real purpose of Wasaga Beach’s Tourism Enhancement Proposal, given that the sale of Crown-owned lands within Beach Areas 1, 2, New Wasaga and Allenwood Beach will most likely lead to bulldozing the area and the pouring of concrete, with impact on the water and on the unique habitat of the piping plover, pushing the species on the verge of extinction.

“The things of nature do not really belong to us, we should leave them to our children as we have received them.”
Thank you.
