I was just at Wasaga Beach this past long weekend. People use every part of that Park. The beach, the green space the trees for shade. The air is much cooler where we have green space driving from the place I live to Wasaga beach, the air quality is much better. Our tax dollars should go towards keeping our existing park land. For us as Ontarians' that need green space, and for our ENDANGERED SPECIES like our beloved Piping Plover. Bill 5 is an assault on our democratic rights. After seeing what happened to the environment at Ontario Place, and the Greenbelt scandal we can't allow this to happen to our Public Land we all deserve access to public greenspace by the water, Our Environment, Ontario's Endangered species matter.
The Beach one area can be developed to be a destination. There is no justification for these removal of our public land. Our endangered wildlife needs continued protection by park management. The city & corporations/development companies are looking through the lens of "economic zones" put little to no value to green space or wildlife conservation. These lawless zones could easily lead us to another Ontario Place all of the old growth trees, flora, fauna killed removed. Our tax dollars to take land from ourselves used to prepare land for corporations. I want my tax dollars maintaining our greenspaces & keeping our public land public. Not for private businesses (e..g like a private spa like Therma), or developers . Please care about our rights as Ontarians' to access a swimmable beach with greenspace & protected wildlife. We pay our taxes, the government is supposed to work for us.
All of our public land should remain public. Thank you for reading my comment. This is incredibly important to me and my family.
