At a time where we need to be honouring the land in which we operate on every day in this province and country, we also need to honour and respect the individuals we are impacting. This time it’s the Piping Plovers. They matter. Their a dwindling species and their habitat needs protecting by a science-based management plan that only Ontario Parks can do justice. We know the Town of Wasaga won’t commit the funding, resources, and energy necessary to protect these birds. Birds Cananda needs to be a key player in the development and implementation phases. Please don’t pass the proposal. It was their home first and Ontario Parks is the only governing body that’s going to keep it that way.
