I can't decide if the Ford government just has an outright brazen disregard for our dwindling natural spaces, or a vehement hate towards them. It's disgraceful. Disgusting. But I am reminded of Hamlin's razor which states; Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
The proposed sale of one the most popular provincial park destinations in the entire province is ludicrous, and frankly, stupid. What's next, we open up Algonquin provincial park to expand cottage country? It's senseless, and this is only the human impact. Wasaga beach is one of only FOUR nesting sites in the entire province for Piping Plovers, the others being two provincial parks (Darlington and Presquile), and Tiny Township near Bruce Peninsula.
To put it lightly, this needs to stop here, and never get past the proposal stage.
