While I support some development at Wasaga Beach as it has languished for years, I don’t think the current Mayor, councillors or CAO have the skills to effectively engage the community in their development plans. At the provincial level there is a stronger more skilled bureaucracy to effectively manage the provincial beach assets. I can tell you from experience that they do not effectively see input and have problems with opinions that don’t align with their narrative. In summary, I am against this proposal until the mayor, councillors and CAO put a proper plan on the table including operating costs, expected revenues and environmental protections from their proposal.
