I strongly oppose the development of Wasaga Beach provincial park lands. It is critically important that we maintain environmental protections on the land, especially considering the Wasaga Beach ecosystem provides environmentally sensitive habitat for wildlife, like the endangered Piping Plover. The dune habitat is also important for human communities as it provides a buffer for flooding.
The provincial park lands are also important recreational areas for people, which support tourism in an environmentally conscious way. We must be able to share the land with wildlife and protect the land instead of paving over, privatizing, and destroying it.
