I support the proposed changes to the Devil's Glen park boundaries and land classification to improve and protect wildlife habitat, significant plant eco-systems and carbon capturing trees and plants, under Ontario's Provincial Park system. Adding 18 hectares to the park is a meaningful but modest step towards doing so.
I do hope more proposals are put forward in this area to better protect the natural features and species on private lands adjacent, near and far (Reverse Bill 5!!!) as the development pressure on the surrounding lands is extroardinary and continues to reduce and weaken the existing wildlife corridors in this area of Ontario. Habitat islands will protect plants and fungus, but sadly will not ensure species survival for most wildlife with mobility.
