I am in favour of these amendements to allow and recognize Rock Climbing in Devils Glen.
I've been a climber for over 8 years and have enjoyed climbing at many different Ontario crags as well have travelled outside of Ontario and Canada to climb. Climbing as provided me with a community, meeting friends and giving us an active outlet. My husband and I moved to the area over 4 years ago and one of the reasons we picked this area was it's access to 4 amazing rock climbing destinations where we can recreate in the evenings just a quick drive away - Devil's Glen being one of them. I've found the climbing community to generally be advocates for conservation and preserving these natural rock formations that we love so much. We make sure to stick to established trail systems, pack our trash out (and pick up trash we find) and make sure we limit our impact when we're in nature. A relationship between the parks and rock climbers would be incredibly beneficial to maintain these natural areas.
