Tourism growth and downtown revitalization should not necessitate irreversible changes to protected lands. The government should explore alternative strategies—such as infill development, sustainable infrastructure investments, or restoration elsewhere—that deliver economic benefits without compromising conservation goals.
The current proposal strikes a dangerous balance heavily tilted toward short-term gains over long-term environmental and cultural resilience
I urge the government to reject or significantly revise this proposal to uphold meaningful conservation protections, explore less damaging options, and engage in transparent dialogue with local stakeholders, environmental groups, and Indigenous communities concerned about the future of Wasaga Beach.
I strongly believe that a more eco tourism approach can be taken instead.
Thank you for considering my views
