I recently heard about this proposal and felt that I needed to comment. This is not something that I normally do. I live in Northeastern Ontario and I understand the need for tourism, however the reality of this proposal is that it will benefit very few people - with a largely negative impact on the environment. The province of Ontario needs to stop catering to businesses and developers for financial gain and consider long term environmental impact and protection. Additionally, increasing tourism will add additional strain on the environment causing increased future costs to residents to maintain with man made, engineering solutions. These costs will not be borne by developers.
Please do not put short term financial benefit ahead of a long term environmentally sound ecosystem. This is just one plan that doesn't make sense, and benefits so few people.
