Wasaga Beach is an important part of Ontario’s heritage. Like other Provincial Parks, it is a vital part of Ontario’s ecology, housing at least one endangered species; history (commemorating the War of 1812- now more than ever, a milestone in Canada’s sovereignty); a link to other Provincial Parks, and a draw to this part of Ontario); a sizeable, reachable beach destination for families in the GTA and other parts of Ontario without beach access; and, crucially, a public space, owned by Ontarians, not by politicians. Too much of our province has already been sold off for private profit, and for showboating politicians disguising personal gain as being good for Ontario. Please preserve our beautiful, generous, kindly beauty for future generations, who deserve green spaces for fun, excitement, sports, family time, private time, education and joy. The majority of us do not want our province sold off piece by piece, and we will remember this. Thank you.
