I do not support the proposed changes to Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, and request that the administration and control of the land remain unchanged under The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks. Please reconsider this legislative amendment and do not allow this land to be developed.
We are seeing the continued erosion and fracturing of provincial parks across Canada due to various reasons, primarily driven by economic growth and development. There will always be new economic opportunities for communities to pursue, but there will not always be more land to preserve for future generations within provincial parks. We must protect these valuable parcels of land that are a defining feature of our country, even if it means slowing economic growth or forcing communities to get creative with other means of growth in the short term.
The Wasaga Beach Provincial Park's beaches and Nancy Island are a special place for many - let's keep them that way.
