I sincerely hope that the above proposal will not interfere in any way with the work that has been done to protect Piping Plovers and their nest on Wasaga Beach. I think that the Ontario government is much too ready to throw nature out the window in an effort to bring money in through legislation such as Bill 5.
The current government's record on protecting the environment is abysmal. New highways that bisect important watersheds is just one other example of this government's history. Tunnels under the 401 is another waste of money.
When it comes to protecting a small part of the Wasaga Beach, the conservation work that has gone into this area for many year and the success that has resulted should be celebrated, not shoved out the door.
