By pushing this through under Bill 5, this will remove any accountability to the developers to ensure the environmental impact of their plans is taken into consideration. This is the largest freshwater beach in the world. To hack it apart and hand it to some of Dougie’s developer buddies is irresponsible. It also sets a dangerous precedent for our other provincial parks. Bill 5 will allow this development to happen without consultation of Indigenous communities as well. Bad idea all around.
