Organized extinction or eradication of native species to the great lakes is an abominable decision that seems to lack sufficient independent study as to the actual ecological impact of the double breasted cormorant. Hunting 50 birds per hunter per day is an absurd and cruel act of waste and poor environmental management. I would greatly like to see this proposal revised by those whose interests are not motivated by commercial fishing who are not known for their preservation or conservation efforts.
