The transfer in question should not take place - the habitat in question is essential for Ontario's population of protected Piping Plovers, a species which is unprotected outside federal land in the province, and has faired poorly (meaning local extirpation) when greedy municipal governments are allowed to plow over their habitat in favour of the perceived wants of beachgoers. Ontario parks belong to the people of Ontario, and they should not be sold, transferred, or given away. Our natural heritage belongs to us, not to the Ford Government.
