The amendment of these key acts will henceforth destroy the habitats of the piping plovers. These acts are key in all provincial parks to uphold the standards of all living organisms that inhabit each park. The piping plovers are an endangered shore bird that have been nesting and feeding off of two of the main beach areas. The piping plovers have been at risk for many years, the return to wasaga beach years ago has been fundamental to the survival and success of their species. The amendment of those acts will further endanger these animals and set back the efforts that have been put into place to protect them.
