I strongly oppose the proposed changes to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006 (PPCRA) and the transfer of ontario provincial parks land to the municipality of Wasaga Beach.
When any municipality desires to obtain /purchase protected land for "integration into the broader development of Destination Wasaga" or any other municipal tourism plan it dosen't take much to visualize the eventual outcome of such a plan .
The expansion of the "Coney Island " like atmosphere of a significant part of the existing Wasaga Beach waterfront is not what most citizens of Ontario want to see.
This land and all other provincial park land is held in trust for all Ontarians and control of these lands should never be transfered to any municipality/ local control or developer.
Now more than ever we need to protect our precious green spaces.
