This proposed transfer of land severely impacts a beloved species at risk, the piping plover, as well as the people who use this land for many recreational uses. Wasaga beach is one of the main locations in the province where Piping Plovers breed and the loss of this crucial habitat will harm this protected species. I encourage all involved to reconsider this proposal and protect this vital piece of land by keeping it within the control of Ontario Parks.
