I am deeply disturbed at the notion that such a critical ecology for all members of the beachfront community is threatened in the name of tourism. I do not trust the tourism sector of Wasaga to preserve the natural heritage of this area, nor do I believe they will put the interest of the ecological community, especially the Piping Plover habitat, above financial capital. This would be a grave and irreversible mistake by the government of Ontario to be so negligible in transferring management for conservation instead into management for capitalistic incentive.
