This proposal does not consider wildlife management and conservation strategies that exist in the park right now and would lose all of their progress with the proposed changes. Piping Plovers were nearly eradicated from Ontario and the habitat they require is rare. Moving park boundaries would mean these animals are unprotected and losing them would decrease the appeal of Wasaga beach that this proposal is trying to increase.
