As a longtime resident of Simcoe Grey and a frequent visitor to Wasaga Beach, I am vehemently opposed to this proposal. Not only is it detrimental to the ecosystem within the park, but it will set a dangerous precedent going forward. It demonstrates a greater degree of care for prospective businesses and landowners than for the residents of Wasaga Beach, human and animal alike. Wasaga’s natural beauty is what draws myself and other visitors to the park. It is a great place to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends while feeling assured that this natural beauty will be preserved for generations to come through the park's environmental stewardship. Jeopardizing all this, putting endangered species at risk, is disgraceful. No amount of casinos or hotels can replace what is a truly one-of-a-kind natural landscape that has been drawing people to Wasaga for almost 3 quarters of a century.
