It is very important that a decision is made in regards to the Jamesville project because it has been too long since the project was proposed and the City of Hamilton desperately needs housing on this site. However, the current proposal was proposed without neighbourhood consultation and exceeds the limitations set out in the Setting Sails Agreement.

The CNR concerns are valid but housing was there . As a resident of the area, I experience all the noise, vibrations and smells that come with a railway and shunting yard. I knew this when I moved here. The residence of the North End have for years approached CN to be proactive in the use of their engines and shunting yard. Stop idling their engines when not in use or electrify the shunting engines. The current proposal doesn't indicate how this problem is to be addressed by CN or the developers.

I also feel that the affordable housing portion of the project should be started before the market value development because if we wait for the developers to sell their units first, the affordable units may not be built for years. We need affordable housing now.

Thank you.
