The Town of Innisfil is please to submit our comments on the Request for a Minister's Zoning Order for the mixed-use development in the Town of Innisfil (1702 Innisfil Beach Road - ERO number 025-0119). Town Council endorsed the attached staff report at their meeting on August 13, 2025. The Town of Innisfil is a growth friendly municipality and is supportive of additional growth. The Town has completed a Housing Needs Assessment that identifies a need for additional forms of affordable and
seniors housing, that this proposal would seem to align with. However the subject lands (only 1702 Innisfil Beach Road not 1698 as noted in the posting) are not located within a settlement area and servicing capacity is not anticipated to be available for the development of these lands until 2028. As outlined in the attached staff report, there are identified constraints that would seem to preclude the necessity for the use of the Minister’s Zoning Order.
