Considering walleye have exploded in Black Bay and the steelhead & salmon numbers have plummeted as a result, there is a better solution than the one currently being considered:
Walleye: maintain the existing 2 fish of any size possession limit, and extend it north of Bent Island, to include the entire bay. Maintain the current season.
Rainbow Trout: Maintain a 1 fish possession limit, however, institute a size restriction in Black Bay and tributaries (69 cm /27-inch minimum size) in an effort to increase adult survival.
Chinook Salmon: Given the very low population in Black Bay currently, a 1 or 2 fish limit will promote a recovery of the chinook fishery
