Please remove this from the bill.
This is terrible policy, for the safety of everyone, cyclists or not. As this study shows (https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/05/190529113036.htm), installing cycling lanes reduces fatalities, not only for cyclists, but also pedestrians and motorists.
Yes I'd prefer to cycle on smaller streets where they are available but that isn't always the case. We need a connected network of protected lanes so not just I but especially my kids can navigate the city.
If you want to make our city streets function better, work to better manage construction blocking streets. And restrict ebikes, scooters and mopeds using the bike lanes, especially those going the wrong way. Many of these vehicles aren't legal! Work on managing that issue properly (and also the apps that are pushing people to break the rules) and our streets will work better.
