Species need larger habitat zones than nesting and feeding sites, and depend on interrelationships with many other plant, soil and aquatic organisms to exist. These will be protected only by larger zones.
The Ontario Species at risk laws must also uphold the federal laws, which the new proposed act does not.
Defining/ delineating of specific species at risk must be done by an external scientific body.
Economic development must include environmental health economics, for current and future well being of communities and their environments.
