I have read many of the submissions protesting the idea of opening a season to allow shooting of cormorants; I am fully in agreement with the general message they convey. This is a ridiculous, unnecessary measure to placate a very small number of people and is based on zero science. One additional factor that does not appear to have been taken into consideration is the enormous amount of shotgun pellets that will be spread over land and lake. More pollution, more hazards for waterfowl that will inevitably ingest the pellets. Please just don't do it.
