The most critical need that cyclists face (commuter and recreational) is safe bicycle infrastructure on busy roads. Painted bike lanes and sharrows are not enough to get more cyclists (especially women) leaving their cars at home.
We need physically separated bike lanes. I cannot stress that enough.
I would also like to see: traffic lights that are responsive to cyclists, painted boxes at intersections as well as the legalization of Idaho stops.
