The proposal to allow hunting of cormorants is wrong and unjustifiable on pretty much every level. I am strongly opposed. I could spend a long time outlining all the reasons why, but since the government didn't actually present any plausible justification for the proposal, I won't go into details either. Instead, I will just say: every credible scientific organization or researcher that is involved with wildlife (e.g., Bird Studies Canada, Dr. Gail Fraser of York University, etc.) has come out against this proposal and has supported their opposition with credible statements. The government should listen to them.
