To open a hunting season for the Double-Crested Cormorant is totally wrong and should not be considered . The population of these birds will eventually stabilize and reach an equilibrium with their available food supplies. They are part of the great lakes bio-sphere and to try and eradicate them because they don't fit our perception of what the environment should look like is supremely arrogant on our part . We have managed to do so much damage to the lakes with accidental introduction of invasive species, farm run off ,raw sewage etc . Lets just give the population time to stabilize before we make yet another mistake.
