This is an observation in addition to P-BAC's submission. I would like to flag road surface treatment as a concern in this policy process. Presently, there seems to be no "professional development" aimed at those who are in charge of deciding what sort of paving treatment will be used. Once cycling connectivity routes are established, questions of aggregate size when using the chip & seal technique, questions of micro-surfacing applications and general road treatment suitability for comfortable and safe cycling need to be addressed. I've seen lots of information about various types of built and painted infrastructure as regards cycling, but a large lacuna as regards paving types. This applies to the treatment of paved shoulders as well.
