The parts of this Bill that propose to allow the possibility to open up protected greenspaces is unacceptable. There are plenty of opportunities to open new businesses that provide good jobs in places that are not protected environmentally sensitive lands. A consistent mechanism is presently in place to ensure the long term health of these environmentally sensitive lands and this protection was established by hard work from a past generation of citizens. The cost of being Open for Business in the way that is being proposed in this legislation is not worth the benefit.
