This proposal is an affront to democracy and science. It appears that the Ford government is playing with language and process meant to protect species and habitats. Species at risk must be scientifically determined and protected at all levels of government. This government's attempt to weaken provincial language to allow legal loopholes for development to occur is pathetic and beyond the pale. Strong protections for endangered species and habitats have been developed over decades at all levels of government and when we need these protections more than ever. Make these environmental provisions stronger, not weaker!
