The government's own experts have found repeatedly that bike lanes do not worsen gridlock, and it is outrageous that the Ford government wants to remove local autonomy in implementing new bike lanes. We all want to be safe, and protected bike lanes make cyclists safer than having to share the road with cars. Ontario municipalities must have the autonomy to implement new bike lanes without interference from the province.
