This line of thinking seems so backwards. Many cities in Europe and Asia have cut lanes and seen traffic improve as a result of reducing lanes. Watching a single Youtube video from Not Just Bikes, or doing some amount of research clearly indicates that traffic can move faster if lanes are reduced and if bike lanes are implemented (assuming the bike lanes are safe and comfortable to be used for a person). The environment part and pollution seems to just be tossed in to win some political points. Reducing the lanes will reduce pollution as more people will turn to other forms of transportation simply due to less cars on the road
