This is truly one of the most regressive bills I've seen in my lifetime. Prohibiting Vehicle Lane Reduction for New Bicycle Lanes? Why stop there? Why not prohibit new sidewalks too. That could be used for half a lane of snarling traffic.
Premier Ford's desire to remove/restrict bike lanes to make a motor vehicle the fastest way to get around in a major city is not only a fantasy, but goes against empirical data that disproves this notion and has been thwarted by the courts once already on that basis.
The suburbs already exist for those who want to be sedentary and have vehicle ownership be a necessity to daily life - leave our cities alone.
