This is a terrible proposal. We should have policies that incentivize people to choose anything other than single occupancy vehicles. Other than adding bike lanes, we could have dedicated bus lanes or LRTs.
Municipalities should have the option to remove car lanes in order to accommodate these more efficient modes of transportation. It has been proven around the world that designing for cars only increases the amount of traffic, leading to more delays.
Please leave the option to municipalities.
