There is no evidence that removing bike lanes or not allowing them is going to improve congestion. In fact, now all those cyclists will be sitting in cars and last time I checked, a car was bigger than a bike. And don't pretend people will carpool. That just isn't true. Evidence-based decision making would be a good start. So far the evidence points more to a strong car-supporting lobby with the conservatives in their pocket than any actual evidence that supports the decisions being made. Bike lanes reduce congestion and save lives. I drive and also support getting cars off the roads where possible. How backwards does Ontario want to be in a world that is moving forward in making active transportation a viable, safe way to get around cities that people actually want to live and work in?
