Hello,

I want a modern Ontario and part of modernisation is implementing evidence-based policies. The current Ontario government's plan to 'reduce gridlock' is not based on science. It goes against the government's own expert report that bike lanes doesn't cause more gridlock and would actually worsen traffic congestion. Additionally, protected bike lanes prevent serious injuries and deaths for pedestrians, bikers, and drivers. Please invest more in public transportation to ease traffic congestion. Investment in public transportation will make cities much more pleasant to live in.

The Ontario government needs to stop meddling with the city. Bill 212 is stripping cities of their decision-making powers. Let local resident decide what projects to support.

I lived abroad in Europe and because the cities are so walkable and public transportation so extensive I enjoyed walking and living there. Walking increased my daily physical exercise. Walking became fun! Downtown wasn't full of cars revving and honking and speeding. When I rode a bike it didn't feel like I was risking my life. There is a reason why many Canadians like vacationing in Euorpe and one of the reason is because it is walking friendly and the addition of good public transportation just made exisiting outside enjoyable.

Please implement policies based on science instead of politics. We are seeing what happens in the USA when policies are politics driven. This isn't a Left or Right thing or pro-bike or anti-car. Governments be making decisions based on science and evidence.
