This bill is a horrible idea…

This bill is a horrible idea. The advantages of things like bike infrastructure (Which we are severely lacking) are very well studied and well documented. The advantages of reducing cars and car dependant infrastructure (Which we have way too much of) are also very well studied and documented.

This bill, by its very nature, will NOT reduce gridlock, reduce pollution, increase safety, or help emergency vehicles. It will do the opposite, and that's what the facts show. I know that because this government just got taken to court and was completely unable to provide any evidence for any of these claims and lost the case. Your own experts have also looked into this and shown that bike lanes do not cause congestion. And the idea that adding more car infrastructure and therefore inducing more demand for more cars is somehow a benefit to the environment is a blatant lie.

This bill is a clear attack on bicycles, an attack on the rights of municipalities, and an attack on facts themselves. If this is passed then this will show that you do not care about the truth, about evidence, about safety, about the environment, about the rights of municipalities, about anything but more and more and more cars.

Do not pass this, there is nothing positive or at all worthwhile in this bill. It is one of the worst bills I've ever seen from this province, and that's saying something.
