Bill 66 goes way too far by rendering impotent the protections of our laws for our water sources, farm land, natural heritage systems, and our Great Lakes all for the alleged intent of cutting red tape . Schedule 10 has caused grave concern to Ontarians of all parties, mayors and councillors who value our health , happiness and quality of life and realize the laws that don’t apply to open-for- business bylaws are not ‘red tape” but necessary to protect our clean water sources from contamination and maintain our Greenbelt and Oak Ridges moraine for our agricultural land, wildlife and water sources. Further, the lack of notice to and input by citizens is unnecessary and dangerous to our democracy. This is not the way to support more business in Ontario. This is clearly beneficial to the few (developers) and detrimental to the citizens of Ontario. Our farmers’ biggest concern is urban sprawl but Bill 66 would allow development of our best agricultural land and the Oak Ridges Moraine , the source of our aquifers and the water for our wells. I am against Bill 66 in its entirety.
