This open-for-business planning tool sounds like a really bad idea. As a member of a municipal planning advisory committee, I know how important official plans & zoning, site plan control, and adherence to provincial policies are in managing & controlling development. I see how much our local council wants to develop and I try my best to maintain some environmental control.

By eliminating these requirements, you will throw the doors wide open to any development which municipalities want without any controls. There will be no environmental protection. (There is very little already.)

Please do not do this.
