I do not support the changes to the Endangered Species Act. Ontario does not need to make changes to this Act in order to go through with development. The trade-off between development (short term wealth) is nothing compared to the long term ecological processes that go into natural, untouched areas of land. Canadians pride themselves with preserving ecological diversity and this is something integrated into our CULTURE. It is what defines Canada and Ontario citizens. By changing the Endangered Species Act, we are contributing to the downfall and endangerment of our own humankind species. Development on natural property is a short term wealth gain which will eventually come back to haunt us in the future when we need other natural resources. This is not sustainable and quite frankly, unintelligent, of the government to do.
