Removing species from the Engangered Specoes List and reclassifying them without sufficient evidence of population stabilization is not acceptable. Where are the studies indicating that's appropriate? Habitat in Ontario is shrinking, not growing with urban expansion and industry. I understand the necessity to develop industry amidst the current situation with tariffs, but we jeopardize the broader livability on this land, not just for animals, but for people too. Food webs are immensely complicated, and the decline of even one seemingly unimportant species can spell disaster. A good example of this is the current decline of solitary bees which are a native species that are mostly responsible for pollinating our crops.
