These new amendments are a brash attack on our biodiversity, and the possibility of maintaining healthy ecology in this province. Delisting federally listed species is insane: you know that those protections only apply on federal land, of which there is very little. This means you will be able to exterminate and endanger listed species on non-federal lands. Everyone sees through this garbage legislation.
Also only protecting the species and not its habitat shows a lack of understanding about the way a species survives… in its environment! What do you think your grandchildren will be living with? Will there be bird song? will there be babbling rivers or vibrant shade-giving trees? Will there be healthy soils and blooming flowers, and polinators supporting our food systems?
The way you are going, we’ll all be dead in a generation. How can you be so short sighted?
