I do not support the extirpation of species for the sake of the economy and unnecessary consumerist tactics. We can grow our economy without sacrificing these essential species. Everything has a role and depends on everything else. Our economy depends on healthy ecosystems, clean air, clean drinking water, healthy pollinator populations, healthy soil, and river systems. Climate change has major impacts on the money that our government and taxpayers have to pay every year and is only increasing with major weather events and human-wildlife interactions at the fault of human disturbance. This money could be going towards building our economy if smart investments are made. Prioritizing the environment is always a good investment.
