The weakening of the Endangered Species act is unscientific and anti-democratic, putting the profits of corporate entities over the health and safety of the Ontario ecosystem and those who rely on it to survive. Habitat destruction is the leading cause of biodiversity loss worldwide and is incredibly difficult to reverse. If ANY of the economic projects that get pushed through could push Ontario wildlife past a tipping point; it is future Ontarians who will be struggling for generations to fix this mess after the well-connected business interests have extracted whatever profits they can. And that's not even discussing the possibility these economic projects could be failures but the damage will still have been done.
