Protections for endangered species should be STRENGTHENED not weakened. Please put regulations in place that actually have TEETH. The presence of endangered species or their habitat should be enough to STOP development and not simply be "red tape" that slows a project down. This will mean we can focus development on appropriate areas where there aren't a hundred hoops to jump through. We don't need more development in the GTA! Build where there is still room to grow rather than removing more of the beautiful natural areas that make it worth living in the GTA.

There is a development in my community that was stalled for years because of flood risk and wildlife protections. Since this government "cut red tape" that area was flattened, trees were removed, and the shoreline on the lake was altered for a future pier. A pier that never came. Houses that never came. That same property is now desolate and up for sale. REGULATIONS ARE FOR A REASON. Nobody wants to live in a degraded area with risk of flooding and spitting distance from their neighbour.

Protect our endangered species and their habitat. Build homes for our furry, feathered, and finned friends, not foreign investors and the flagrantly rich!
